About
About the artist, Maigen:

"The first thing I ever made was a green satin sheath dress for my barbie doll. It didn't fit her very well, as I didn't quite grasp the concept of buttons and zippers. All I knew was that from the front and standing perfectly still the dress looked amazing, tied as it was with a ribbon and a paperclip. After that, my grandmother taught me how to sew by hand and then by machine. Sewing expanded handily over the last twenty years into needlework, beading and knitting - and in a lot of other creative pursuits, such as painting (canvases, walls and wineglasses) and writing.
Jewelry in particular is my forte. I've always said that it's just something I feel - there's an almost audible click when I pick up two things after studying all of my components and they just 'work' together. I started out making seed bead bracelets for friends - now I'm an unofficial know-it-all for most stones and their qualities. It's like cooking, the ingredients just make sense to me, and I can tell when I've got the recipe right.
I love crafting my handmade, beautiful things. I hope you'll love wearing them."
