Surprisingly, this stone isn't named for St. Petersburg, and wasn't found in Russia, which, I confess, was my initial thought. Instead, it was found in Namibia and is the result of blue and gold Tigers Eye crushed with Quartz and stressed by the earth for a few years (or so). I set this intriguing stone with blue topaz, blue jade and silver pearls, accented by sterling silver beads and heart-shaped toggle clasp. Pietersite is thought to help us reach the divine state, helping focus meditation and dispelling illusion.

Icy white and cool to the touch, this hand-carved Snow Quartz leaf pendant is stunning in its simplicity. Pure as fresh fallen snow and centered on a strand of Lapis Lazuli nuggets and sterling silver 2mm beads, the stone seems to capture the light and glow. Snow Quartz has long been associated with innocence and hope. When we wear it, snow quartz serves to remind us that the word "Wonderful' comes from the word "Wonder".

One of my favourite singers is Louis Armstrong, and his song "A Fine Romance" is one of my all-time favourite tunes. This necklace made me think of that song as I created it - a small silver charm etched with the word "Love" nestles next to a thai silver heart charm, surrounded by hand polished Garnet rondelles and tiny 2mm Garnet rounds. I know they say Rose Quartz is the stone of love, but in my personal opinion, nothing speaks to the heart like the deep, rich red of a beautiful Garnet. Finished with a Bali sterling silver clasp, this necklace is the perfect way to say "I Love You".

If It Ain't Baroque...
Punny though it may be, it's true. Some of us just aren't into the ultra-urban, ultra-sophisticated, ultra-modern, ultra-everything jewelry. Not everyone has the same style. Which is why I love this necklace. Saturn Jasper, so named for its peculiar colour and stripes, sets the mood in a beautifully polished, faceted tear-drop shape. Surrounded by gorgeous bronze coin pearls and nuggets of deep red coral, finished with gold accents and clasp. In my mind, it evoked thoughts of the Renaissance Era, where romance was a fashion mainstay. Saturn Jasper is worn for its centering and grounding elements, while pearls promote sincerity, truth and loyalty..
